Second Mongol Fleet
In the Kamikaze of 1274 - 1281 the Second Mongol Fleet, attempted to invade Japan. The Second Mongol fleet was twice the size of the first with two separate armies invading two different parts of Japan. Before they attacked the met up at the main aim of attack. As they were about to attack the much smaller Japanese force with around 40 000 Samurai, while they Mongol fleet had 140 000 soldiers. Just before they started to attack a massive tropical cyclone hit right where they were going to attack, and killing nearly almost of the Mongol Fleet and stopping the attempt to invade Japan for a second time. The soldiers that survived from the Mongol fleet were killed by the Samurai defending Hakata Bay, the place the Mongol fleet where planning to invade.
Why was the Kamikaze significant?
The Kamikaze was significant because the Kamikaze saved Japan from being attacked and most likely defeated by the Mongol Fleet. If the kamikaze did not happen Japan, Japan might be under different leadership.
